Where Is The Los Ríos Region

Located in the area of lakes and volcanoes, Los Ríos. It is one of the fifteen areas where the country is divided. Bordered on the north by the IX Region of Araucanía, south to the X Region of Los Lagos, on the east by Argentina and the west by the Pacific Ocean.
It has an area of 18,429.5 km ² and an estimated population of 356,396 by 2010
The region of Los Rios came after being stripped of the former Lake District when it entered into force Law No. 20,174, on October 2, 2007.

Rivers is composed of the provinces of Ranco and Valdivia, being the regional capital city of Valdivia, located at 840 kms from Santiago, just 17 km from the historic Bay of Corral, in the Pacific Ocean.
