The Magical World of Huilo Huilo

Huilo Huilo Biological Reserve is one of those unique places in the world, with an area of 60,000 hectares. Part of the World Biosphere Reserve, declared by UNESCO in 2007. The flora of the Reserve Huilo Huilo is dominated by forest type Valdivian forests, moist mixed forest has a large variety of species, highlighting evergreen species such as coigüe, elm, tepa, olivillo, Tineo, hazelnut, trevo, notro, tiaca, fuinque. It also contains conifers such as peanuts. This forest also has some deciduous trees such as oak and evergreen, and beech ñirre.

In the reserve you can find many services such as cabins, camping and impressive hotels and Baobab Magic Mountain, with its convention center and Spa.

It is also possible to develop a series of activities ranging from hiking trails to the falls Huilo Huilo, El Puma and La Leona, trails and lagoons, flora and fauna, Canopy, fishing and horseback riding.

Snow and winter sports

Through the reservation is only possible to access the snow downtown Los Ríos Region and central South America only possible to visit during the summer as the glacier Choshuenco Mocho Volcano allows for snow all year. Your Huilo snowpark Huilo BigAir has a guardrail, jib park and a track of 500 meters to bordercross. There are areas for the practice of randonee, snowshoe hiking (snowshoeing) and the fast and fun field tubing, sliding down the slope. Moreover, in winter you can take ski and snowboard lessons.

  • Huilo Huemules Huilo, is the only project in Chile successful captive breeding of Huemul (not accessible to the tourist area) developed by the Foundation Huilo Huilo. They also develop research and conservation projects Valdivian forest.
