Villarrica National Park. Araucaria and hidden glaciers in the Andes

Villarrica National Park, shared between the regions of Araucania and Los Rios, is one of the most visited by the ascent to the crater of the volcano and its ski resort. Nevertheless, other sectors eligible for trekking, camping and expeditions, worthy of the most fanatical lover of adventure sports and nature.

Pichillancahue Glacier, eastern slope of Volcán Villarrica: by the thermal sector Vergara, Geometric and Rincon from Coñaripe, we found a single sector views, surrounded by volcanoes, hot springs, ancient Araucaria forests and glacier ice singular hidden between layers of volcanic ash from different eruptions . Tips

  • Ask about guided tours from Coñaripe, Licanray or Panguipulli.
  • So far the cuts across the middle of the park from the Araucanía Los Rios is cut into the park, but guided tours are possible from Coñaripe, up the sector of drawers.
  • The access road to the Villarrica National Park is accessible in summer. In winter, depending on the amount of snow on the road, you can access to the Spa's Corner (km 21).
